A message to my fellow PINOY COMIC BOOK CREATORS!
A friend of mine currently is working within the Hollywood movie industry and is soliciting my comic book stories. She plans to shop them around to see if any movie producers are interested in optioning them for TV and movie production.
I suggested that we include works from other creators aside from my own and she was open to the idea.
If you are okay with your comic book works being turned into a TV series or a movie, I encourage you to submit.
In anticipation of numerous submissions, I have prepared a submissions guideline to make the process as easy and as streamlined as possible.
GUIDELINES
1. This is NOT a call out for comic book artists but for comic book creators who have completed stories or those who have material available for pitching.
2. Include your email, contact number/s, URL in every page of your submission.
3. Do not submit MORE THAN 10 pages of comic book art (maximum 700 pixels wide, 72 dpi, JPG format).
4. Include a one page synopsis of your story.
5. Make sure that you own the rights to your work. In the event that someone else does, please indicate who owns the copyright and their contact details.
6. Please take care to make sure your 1-page synopsis and comic book pages are presentable as I WILL NOT READ them (I am also in the field of creating stories and I want to avoid being accused of plagiarism).
7. Use the SUBJECT LINE: SUBMISSIONS and email your submissions to johnny(AT)jonasdiego.com, CC admin(AT)jonasdiego.com.
NOTE: Please make sure to follow the guidelines. I will not entertain submissions that do not follow them.
DISCLAIMER
1. I will take no commission/percentage from the profit if ever your work does get optioned for TV/Movie production (though I expect acknowledgement and a walk-in/extra part in the production for Gerry, Johnny, and myself if you can manage it…he he he!).
2. Once your work has been optioned the business dealing will be strictly between yourself and the production outfit.
3. I DO NOT PROMISE that your work will be indeed optioned or made into a TV/Movie. I am merely trying to get all of us as much opportunity, face time, and a bigger market as I can find. Once I have forwarded your work to my friend, they will be the one to get in touch with you if they are interested. I will not entertain follow-ups.
TIP
Don’t submit ONLY superhero stories. Remember, Hollywood also produces fantasy, sci-fi, horror, action, romance, and a variety of other genres.
That being said...good luck, everyone!
